Diaz, Trongone and Garnett Shine at Hokie Open
Wrestling unattached, Chris Diaz and Anthony Trongone took home gold while Jarrod Garnett battled to a 4-2 finals loss to Old Dominion's James Nicholson.
Garnett won by technical fall, fall, including an 8-1 win over team mate Brock Lavorio before dropping the 125 lb. final.
Diaz won 2-0, 8-3, fall, 3-1 and 11-5 as he took the 141 lb. final over Old Dominion's Brennan Brumley.
Trongone's path to victory was particularly sweet. After advancing by default, he put together a pair of 3-2 wins at 174, defeating former team mate (transfered in off season) Eric Decker from Old Dominion in the finals.
